During my recent romantic escape to Kuching, I had the pleasure of staying at the Kuching Hotel, a charming budget-friendly accommodation nestled in the heart of the city. Though it may not boast luxurious amenities, its clean rooms and prime location near various delightful restaurants, including an excellent spot for nasi biryani just a stone's throw away, made our stay quite enjoyable. The standout aspect of our visit was, without a doubt, Sofie at the front desk. His friendly demeanor and genuine care for our comfort truly elevated our experience-it's rare to encounter staff who go the extra mile to ensure your stay is seamless. The hotel also features convenient access to a 24-hour convenience store, perfect for those late-night cravings. While the absence of breakfast was a minor drawback, the air-conditioned rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs provided a cozy retreat after our explorations around the vibrant waterfront area. As an environmental scientist, I appreciate places that prioritize sustainability, and I found that this hotel, despite being a no-frills option, represented a perfect base for our adventures in this beautiful city.
